Shaping the Future of York Rotary — Together!
York Rotary's October 16 meeting was all about looking ahead, sharing ideas, and discovering what matters most to our members!
President Darcy opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 6-Way Test, followed by Kindness Dollars benefiting PolioPlus. Members shared plenty of reasons to smile, from good health news and new grand-fur-babies to beautiful fall foliage, family adventures, and appreciation for the hardworking Car with a Cause Committee as they prepared for the big drawing!

Then it was time for a little club brainstorming! Members moved across the hall for an interactive exercise, selecting their five favorite Rotary activities and placing their choices in the Kindness Pail. From community dinners and Car with a Cause to international service, social gatherings, and local projects, the goal was to identify the activities that mean the most to our members.

Darcy and Susan also shared a look at the upcoming six-month calendar, which includes two regular meetings per month, complemented by special activities and service opportunities. Members were encouraged to suggest new ideas, volunteer to lead projects, and explore ways to make Rotary participation meaningful, flexible, and fun!

The conversation sparked plenty of possibilities, including stronger partnerships with both local Interact Clubs, community cleanups, heating assistance, social gatherings, Cause Cafés, and opportunities to help our older neighbors. Members also discussed the importance of sharing leadership responsibilities to keep our club strong and sustainable.

The takeaway? York Rotary has no shortage of great ideas or caring members! By working together, sharing responsibilities, and focusing on what matters most, we can continue making a difference in our community and beyond.

Reminder: There will be no regular Rotary meeting on Friday, October 23.
