New Rotary HOME!
A Strong Start to the 2025–2026 Rotary Year!
The York Rotary Club kicked off the 2025–2026 year with our first meeting, proudly led by our new Club President, Darcy Bastarache. Darcy opened the meeting by announcing that this month’s Kindness Dollars will be donated to support flood victims in Texas, continuing our club’s commitment to making a difference both near and far.
Our featured speaker was Liz DeLois, Director of Philanthropy at the Maine Community Foundation. Founded in 1983, the Foundation connects people and resources to build a better Maine through strategic giving, community leadership, and strong local partnerships. Liz shared how they work closely with donors to meet a wide range of charitable goals, offering deep local expertise and personalized service to create lasting impact across the state.
After the presentation, Brad Countryman asked our guest, Heidi, Past President of the Marlborough, Massachusetts Rotary Club for her help. Heidi had the honor of drawing the winner of the June 2025 “Car with a Cause” Early Bird $250 prize. Congratulations to the holder of Ticket #115 — not only did they win $250, but their ticket is back in the running for the grand prize: a brand-new car!
So… what did you do Friday morning? Why not join us next week at 7:15 AM at the Center for Active Living (36 Main Street, York, Maine) for more good food, great company, and meaningful impact? Visitors are always welcome — come see what Rotary is all about!
