MEETING/ SPEAKER;  Annette Fazio introduced our speaker, Oneida Babbitt, the reigning Mrs. New Hampshire.  Mrs. Babbitt was among the top ten finalists in the Mrs. USA contest.  She is an advocate for the Homeless.  She stated that there are 3.5 million homeless persons, of which 80-90% are in that circumstances because of unforeseen events.  There is a misconception that homeless persons are homeless because they are lazy, an alcoholic or mentally ill.  She also encouraged each of us to become involved in caring for the homeless by donating time, money, services, clothes, food, etc.  She stated that there is an incredible feeling of satisfaction in knowing that you helped in caring for the homeless.
