Happy Dollars: 

 

  • Ben Lovell finished the first month of his new job in Boston and all is going well;
  • John Rainone gave a happy $5 as he went to the Red Sox fantasy camp in Fort Myers Florida;
  • Russ Peterson’s youngest child is 29 today;
  • Mary Andrews told a funny joke;
  • Steve Brett gave a happy $2 for starting his own law firm---he gave thanks to Jim Bartlett and Tom Elias for the helpful advice. 
  • Jim Bartlett gave a happy $2 as he just sold his house and closed on a new house; Ed Kimball informed everyone that he was going to win the hot tub! 
  • Loretta Prescott announced that it was Girl Scout cookie time---24,000 have been sold and 6,000 of those will be sent to Iraq.  
  • Ray DeFeo was asked to be the sub-governor;
  • Steve Jendzejec announced that Tom Spencer is now in Iraq,
  • the polar dip is on 2/28/04, and Cass did very well getting a personal best and she got accepted to Colby College (go White Mules!!); 
  •  Dave McElwain has UNH hockey tickets available for 2/14.

Rotary Birthday Bash, 99 yrs. old, Tuesday 2/24 in Portland.  There will be a speaker.

3/20/04-Rotary leadership institute at the Sheraton—please let Steve know if interested.

Please sell 4 hot tub tickets MINIMUM.  Stress that it is for a hot tub or 5,000 cash!

Next week Spring dance tickets will be available.

Annette volunteered to be the Junior Achievement Representative!

 

Speaker:   Beth Knight—Doug’s neighbor, she has 2 children, she is the Families Together Coordinator, a non profit organization which is an Adult Literacy Program.   1,000 people in York alone >25 years of age do not have their high school diploma!  Families Together needs $ to buy food, books, bookshelves, and assorted materials.  They work with teen parents, single moms, anyone who needs help.  We all enjoyed making our Valentines!!!
